Back To School: DIY Chalkboard

Hello everyone! I am doing a back to school series this week that consist of a DIY and a fashion post. This is the DIY post that will show you how to make your own chalkboard. Some ways this chalkboard can be used:

• decorating your college dorm/bedroom/any room really! lol
• to-do list
• write motivational quotes
• grocery list

I am sure there are more ideas that you can think of. Keep reading to figure out how to make a cute, colorful chalkboard!

Here is what you will need:

1. Acrylic Paint
2. A plate or anything you would like to put the paint in
3. Paint Brushes
4. A Picture Frame
5. Chalkboard Spray Paint
6. Plastic Bags

Step 1: Remove the photo and cardboard from the frame. If your frame comes with cardboard keep it because you will need it in the end.

Step 2: Remove the glass, place it on a plastic bag. Take it outside and spray paint it. Try not to get air bubbles because they will make the surface bumpy. If the spray paint bubbles up I think using a paint brush will help to smooth out the surface. 

Step 3: After 20 minutes, apply the second coat. Let dry for 24 hours.

Step 4: Put paint in whatever you would like to put the paint in.

Step 5: Paint the frame.

Step 6: Apply second coat of paint.

Step 7: Put the glass and cardboard back into the frame and now you are finish!
