Music Monday #11 - and if anyone believed me..

Saturday, I was watching Beyonce and Jay Z's On The Run concert on HBO and I started singing along to one of the songs in a video they had playing on the screen behind them, "They would be as in love with you as I am..".

I told my sister, "I know this song!" So I googled the lyrics and the results said, "The XX - Angels". That was when I remembered listening to a P. Ron HugLife Remix on my SoundCloud timeline. (SN: Wow! I am really obsessing over Bey! But hey that is nothing new!) Check out the remix below:

Do you like this song? Did you get a chance to check out the OTR concert on Saturday? Let me know in a comment below!

Can you believe this is my 100th post?

The Limegreen Flamingo has changed so much since my first post and some of you guys were with me from the beginning! Rather you were there in May 2013 or this is your first time viewing, I would like to say THANK YOU for supporting me. This blog would be just me posting photos and my thoughts with no one to listen or see if it was not for you guys!

This Music Monday, I put together a playlist to show my appreciation.

New York Fashion Week ended last week and some of my favorite artists were in attendance. That was the inspiration behind the playlist. You can check out some of the tracks from the artists below:

What are your favorite songs from these artist? If you saw photos from #NYFW or was in attendance what were your favorite looks from street style, front row or even the runway? Do you have a #NYFW blog post that you would like to share? I would love to know so drop me a comment below.

Thanks for supporting this blog and stopping by!

Editing My Blog and Instagram Photos

Hello guys! Today I am going to share with you my photo editing process for my blog and Instagram photos. When taking my photos, I am using my iPhone 4 or my Canon PowerShot SX50 HS. I use several apps and websites to get the final product so check it out below to see how I edit.

Before

Photo taken with Canon Powershot on Handheld Night Scene Setting

After Using PicMonkey

To edit the photo above I did the following steps:

1//Auto Adjust under Basic Edits
2//Adjust Boost to 20% under Effects
3//Adjust Orton Bloom to 11%
4//I kept Tranquil at the default setting 30%

Every time I edit a photo I use a different process within PicMonkey. But here are the steps I use often:

First Under Basic Edits

1//Auto Adjust or Exposure & adjust Brightness, Highlights and/or Shadows
2//Sometimes I Sharpen the image if I want something in the photo to look more detailed

Then Under Effects

1//I usually use Orton and adjust the Bloom to a smaller percentage because I don't like the photo to seem too blurry.
2//My favorite filters to use are Cross Process and Tranquil.
3//Sometimes I use the Boost effect but I usually keep the setting between 10 and 20 percent.

For Instagram, I usually use a photo right from my blog that is already edited with PicMonkey but if I am editing a photo straight from my photo, I use apps from my iPhone. To make my skin appear smoother I use moreBeaute2

I love to use VSCOcam to filter my photos. My favorite filters are C1, F2, G3, and T1. I also edit the filters on the editing page after I put the filter on the photo. However, I did not use the editing page but I did use C1 for the example below.

To create the white background and borders for my photos I like to use Whitagram and Squaready. If I want the photo to be fixed, I use Whitagram. A plus for Whitagram is it has a built in editor.

But if I want to be able to crop a photo into a square, a fixed photo or if I want to move the photo around and put it anywhere I want, I use Squaready

I am able to edit the color in both apps but Squaready plus is it has a larger selection of colors.

For extra effects, I use LINE Camera, Shaplus and #SymbolGram. When I want to use collages, my favorite apps are FrameMagic Lite, InstaCollage Pro and TwinCollage.

Also to edit my videos, I use SquareadyV, Chromic, and AvFx.

What are the apps you use to edit your photos? Leave your IG handle in my comments so I can check out your account!

Music Monday #9

Happy Monday! I'm back with another Music Monday! I hope you guys enjoyed your weekend! I have some new and old music that I had on repeat lately. The first artist I would like to talk about is Kehlani.
I first heard her one day (about a month or two ago) I was on Vine and there was a link to her video for an Or Nah remix. I went and watched the video and was fascinated by the fish in the bottles (don't ask!).

Check out the video below:

Then recently I was on Twitter and Bahja from Officially Miss Guided tweeted a twitpic of a screenshot of Kehlani's mixtape, CLOUD 19, and I have been listening to it every since.

Check out the mixtape below:

I have also had PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO on repeat! Love this album! I think me being a huge Drake fan may have something to do with it but I have Party's first album also and I must say that he has really improved.

Check out the album below:

Here are some tracks I have been listening to over and over:

Officially Miss Guided//Boy It's Over
Officially Miss Guided//Baddie
Young Thug ft. Rich Homie Quan//Lifestyle
Chris Jay//Nebula (Scream)
Kandace Springs//Meet Me In The Sky
Chris Brown//X
Lauryn Hill//Black Rage
Ty Dolla $ign ft. Dom Kennedy & Rick Ross//Lord Knows
Childish Gambino//candler road
Mick Jenkins ft. Jean Deaux//Healer
Tinashe ft. A$AP Rocky//Pretend

What are you listening to? I love discovering new music. If you know of any new songs that you think I would love, drop it in a comment or share it with me on any of my social media. I love talking to you guys!

#tbt - That One Time I Went To St. Louis

While I was creating my about me page for my new fashion blog, Teosha Howard, I went on my Facebook page to find some photos from my college experience to put together a collage for the page. I came across my album for my trip to St. Louis. So, today I decided to share with you my experience for this #tbt (ThrowBack Thursday)!

The trip started off pretty rocky because I decided to nap before the trip and slept through my alarm. Long story short, we were running through the Charlotte airport and I forgot my license. Luckily, I had my Social Security card. I was going on a trip to NACA Nationals. For those of you who don't know what NACA is, it''s an acronym for National Association for Campus Activities. Here is a link to their site if you want to know details. This as my second time going to a NACA event because I previously went to NACA South in Winston-Salem, NC. But yeah, enough of the back story. About my trip to St. Louis....

It was my first time ever riding on  plane and I was a little scared. But we flew from Charlotte to Atlanta then to St. Louis. By the time I arrived in Missouri, I felt like a flying pro! I was amazed at how different Atlanta's airport was compared to Charlotte and St. Louis' airports. It was like a mall and had almost any type of store you could think of.

While at the conference I learned a lot, met a lot of cool people, saw cool/interesting things, and over all had a blast. Just thought I would share my experience with you guys! Check out some of the photos below:

The flight attendances and pilots were so nice!

The food was GREAT!

Going to see the Gateway Arch is something I can scratch off of my bucket list!

Very informative and Entertaining conference!!

We went to a cute little diner and even a nice lounge for a reggae party!

Have you ever been to St. Louis? Are you from there? If so what are some of your thoughts about it and what do you suggest I do next time, if I ever go back? Let me know in a comment below!

No More Fashion.

Hello guys! I am making this short post to let you know why I have been so slow with posting lately. I have decided that I will no longer post fashion related blog entries on this site. You can find all of them over on my new fashion blog, teoshahoward.blogspot.com.

I will still post on this blog, just not fashion related post.

I explain it all in my first blog post, so go check it out and follow it, please? I really appreciate all of your support and I hope you continue to stay with me on both of my blog journeys!
