I was given the opportunity to create my dream music festival line-up. First thing that came to mind was, "Oh this will be the easiest task ever! Considering the fact that I love music and festival fashion so much." *crickets* I did not realize how difficult this was until I had to narrow a list of my faves down to just 10 and get back to TickPick so they could work their magic on this lovely poster below:
After shooting a few text and getting others opinions, I came up with this list! I tried to keep the list with "not so big" artist but I could not pass up the first 2 headliners!
I love Kanye's new music and all of his features. I'm sure he would have surprise guest joining him on stage, which could be anyone from Rihanna to Kid Cudi. I had a difficult time picking who name I wanted to go first but a friend reminded me of Kanye's stage design and it helped me make my mind up quickly.
AKA Benz is to me, just a car"..lol I always wanted to use that in my writing. Why pass up a chance like that? (Leave a comment below if you know which song that is from!) Kendrick made the list because I watched his Budweiser Made in America set and dreamed of seeing him live since that moment.
I have seen J Cole live before when he came to my university but he has come out with 2 albums since then. I would really enjoy hearing "Love Yours" and "Apparently" live!
You all know that Schoolboy Q is my best friend in my head and I love his new LP "Blank Face". "That Part" is one of my favorite songs at the moment and I love Quincy's energy.
Listening to Childish Gambino's cover to Tamia-"So Into You" is one of my favorite things to do. I love his catchy raps and soft sweet vocals when he switches to his r&b falsettos. I would definitely have an all around good time listening and watching his set.
From 10 Days to Coloring Book, I have been there listening to him tell stories about his life with an occasional "Igh" along the way. I would love to hear "Juke Jam" and "Finish Line" from his most recent project!
Lolawolf
I have had a girl crush on Zoe Kravitz ever since I saw a pic of her on tumblr a few years back. I thought she was gorgeous and I loved her style. Then I found out she was in a band named Lolawolf and that just took me over the edge. One of my favorite videos is for the song, "Jimmy Franco" and I love to see it performed live!
Back when I was overly obsessed with Vine, I saw a video for a remix to the song "Or nah" by Kehlani and Tia NoMore. A few weeks later I was on twitter and Bahja Rodriguez tweeted a screenshot of Kehlani's song "As I Am". I went and downloaded "Cloud 19" and have been hooked ever since. I am currently obsessing over "CRZY". Kehlani seem so fun from her snapchat so I would love to be in the crowd one day!
The last artist on the line-up would have to be none other than Alessia Cara. I was browsing the "new music" tag on tumblr one day when I discovered the song, "Here"! I was thinking, "Hey! This girl wrote a song about me!" Then I heard her song, "I'm Yours" by mistake because I was looking for Justine Skye's "I'm Yours" ft. Vic Mensa. I listened to her album "Know It All" this past weekend over and over and that is one of the main reasons I felt the need to squeeze her into this line-up! "Outlaws" and "Wild Things" are 2 of my favorites from the album but I love all of the songs! I am really digging the video for "Scars to Your Beautiful" and would love to see it live!!
So that wraps up the line-up for this year's Fauxchella. Don't forget to checkout TickPick for other concert tickets! I am happy to see that they offer NFL tickets with the upcoming Carolina Panthers' season and all! There's plenty more over on the site so go check them out!!
